COUNCIL MEETINGS
Meetings of Council commence at 7.00pm on the third Tuesday of each month.
Meetings dates and venues for 2009 are as follows:
20 January - Echuca
17 February - Kyabram
17 March - Rushworth
21 April - Rochester
19 May - Kyabram
16 June - Echuca
21 July - Echuca
18 August - Rochester
15 September - Lockington
20 October - Rushworth
17 November - Echuca
15 December - Echuca
Permission to speak to an item contained in the Council Agenda can be obtained prior to the Council Meeting, through the Chief Executive Officer and Mayor. This permission relates only to a listed item on the agenda, and five minutes only is provided to speak prior to Council discussing and resolving on the issue.

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME
Purpose
Question time at Council meetings enables an opportunity for members of the public in the gallery to address questions or queries to the Councillors and / or officers of the Shire of Campaspe.
Where, When and Who
The public question time is held at every Ordinary Council Meeting of the Shire of Campaspe.
How to Register a Question
1. Complete the form entitled “Ask a Question at a Council Meeting”.
This form is available on this website, through a Customer Service Centre, or at a Council meeting.
2. Completed forms are to be provided to the meeting and placed in the Question Time tray by 7.10pm on the night of the meeting.
3. If the form cannot be submitted in person, please call 1300 666 535, to make other arrangements with the Corporate Services Executive Manager.
Acceptance of Questions
1. An individual may only ask one question per meeting.
2. In the event that the same or similar question is raised by more than one person, an answer may be given as a combined response.
Questions
1. Members of the public may submit questions from the gallery by completing the form printed on the reverse side of this sheet.
If appropriate, an answer will be given on the spot during Question Time, at the conclusion of the Council meeting.
2. Sometimes a Councillor / officer may indicate that they require further time to research an answer. In this case, the answer will be provided in writing.
3. Questions will be answered unless the Chairperson has determined that the relevant question relates to:
* personal matters
* the personal hardship of any resident or ratepayers
* industrial matters
* contractual matters
* proposed developments
* legal advice
* matters affecting the security of council property
* an issue outside the Shire of Campaspe core business
* or any other matter which the Council considers would prejudice it or any person
* a matter which may disadvantage the Council or any person
* is defamatory, indecent, abusive or objectionable in language or substance
* is repetitive of a question already answered (whether at the same or an earlier meeting)
* is asked to embarrass an officer or another Councillor
No debate or discussion of questions or answers shall be permitted and all questions and answers shall be as brief as possible.
