ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day 2020 will be unlike any other in the wake of the global coronavirus pandemic. While our RSL clubs will still perform flag ceremonies, no marches will take place and the ceremonies will not be open to the public.

I know some residents will still like to honour the day and give thanks for the sacrifices made by men and women and their families on our behalf. Across Australia, residents are asked to unite and recognise past and current armed personnel by standing in their driveways or living rooms for a dawn service at 6am. There are also other ways you can respectfully mark the day in your home, with radio and television broadcasting a number of messages.

In these uncertain times I urge the community to continue to follow the advice of the government and do everything we can to protect our community. So while we can’t attend a service on the day, we can still pay our respects, Lest We Forget.
