Notice of intention to sell land

Campaspe Shire Council (Council), gives notice under section 189 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act) of its intention to sell the parcel of land in the Plan of Consolidation 169585B, 50 Station Street, Colbinabbin formerly known as the Colbinabbin Council Depot, being the whole of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 09858 Folio 666 (the land).

The proposal is that Council sell the land by public auction (but, if the land is passed in at auction, by private treaty). 

Any person may make a submission on the proposal to sell the land. 

Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by Friday, 5 June 2020. All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act. 

Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the land, part of the land or not to sell the land.

Submissions received on the proposed sale of the land will be included in the Council agenda and minutes published on Council’s website, including the personal information of the submitter. Please indicate in your submission if you do not wish your personal information to be identified in the agenda and minutes. 

Any person requesting to be heard in support of his or her submission is entitled to be heard before Council (or its committee established by Council for this purpose), or represented by a person acting on his or her behalf, and will be notified of the time and date of the hearing.

2021 Kindergarten registrations

Registrations are now open for three and four year old funded kindergarten programs at Echuca Central, Echuca East, Echuca South, Colbinabbin, Rochester, Lockington, Tongala, Gunbower, Stanhope, Berrimba, Pink & Blue and Goodstart Early Learning. Online applications are available on Council’s website. Hard copy applications can be accessed by downloading from the website or by calling 1300 666 535. Applications for first round offers close Friday, 31 July.

MCH service changes

To reduce the risk of coronavirus, all maternal and child health appointments are now by telephone. Short 15 minute face to face consultations are also going ahead. Appointments already booked, will continue, but by telephone. For an appointment - call 1300 644 964. Families are encouraged to keep up to date with your child's key age and stage appointments.

2020/21 Proposed Budget

Council’s proposed Budget is now open for submissions, closing Wednesday, 27 May. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic and closure of customer service centres, the budget can only be viewed online at Council’s website. Alternatively, a copy can be emailed by calling customer service 1300 666 535. 

WickED Survey

Campaspe Shire and Moama residents, groups, businesses and schools are invited to provide feedback on waste and the environment through the annual WickED (Waste in Campaspe – know, educate, do) online survey. Comments close Monday, 1 June. 

Kyabram Flood Study

Campaspe residents are invited to review and provide feedback on Kyabram flood modelling developed as part of the Kyabram Flood Study. Comments close Friday, 15 May. 

COVID financial support

Financial support options to assist ratepayers, residents, businesses and community groups in response to the coronavirus pandemic are available on Council’s website via dedicated webpage www.campaspe.vic.gov.au/covidfinance.

Gunbower landfill cap remediation and retaining wall repairs

Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to complete landfill remediation works and retaining wall repairs at the Gunbower Landfill. A non-compulsory site meeting is scheduled for Friday, 8 May and you are required to register by emailing [email protected] . A copy of the documents can be downloaded from Council’s website. Tender closes 2pm, 19 May.

Work notices

Corop Wanalta Road, Burrumboot

Road works will soon start on a section of Corop Wanalta Road, between Two Tree and Burrumboot East Roads. Proposed works include drainage works, safety improvements and road surface replacement and will take approximately 10 weeks to complete.

Murray Valley Highway North Service Road, Gunbower

Road works will soon start on a section of the Murray Valley Highway North Service Road. During construction there will be periods when access to driveways and on-street parking will be restricted. Works will take approximately three weeks to complete.
