Community Flood Recovery and Resilience Grants
Campaspe Shire Council, in collaboration with the federal and state governments, is offering Community Flood Recovery and Resilience Grants. These grants aim to support individuals, families, and organisations affected by the October 2022 Flood Event. Eligible community organisations can receive up to $10,000 to aid in recovery efforts.
About the program
The grants provide funding of up to $10,000 (plus GST if applicable) to eligible not-for-profit community organisations, groups, social enterprises, and creative organisations. The program supports projects and programs that help communities recover from the October 2022 Flood Event and plan for a flood-resilient future. Funded activities must be completed by April 30, 2025.
Eligible Activities
- On-site and outreach recovery services (including mental health and wellbeing services)
- Community recovery capability building initiatives (e.g., training, events, education, programs)
- Events and services to enhance social recovery by increasing social connection and social capital
- Support for First Nations communities affected by the flood, ensuring their culture is valued and respected
Eligible costs may include facilitation, promotional material, advertising, venue hire, catering, transport, logistics support, and equipment hire or lease.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, community organisations must:
- Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or be auspiced by a community group willing to manage the grant
- Be located within the municipality or provide services to Campaspe residents
- Hold adequate public liability insurance
- Have satisfactorily acquitted any previous Council funding
- Not have their own grant-giving or fundraising program
Ineligible Activities
Funding will not be provided for:
- Individuals and private profit-making organisations
- Projects funded by other government levels
- Primary or secondary schools (unless partnered with a community organisation)
- Committees of Council
- Projects with negative environmental or social impacts
- Recurrent operating or maintenance costs
- Salaries for existing staff
- Political or religious events or programs
- Asset purchases or infrastructure projects
- Alcohol, gifts, prizes, or incentives
Assessment Criteria
Applications will be assessed based on:
- Understanding of community recovery needs
- Trauma-informed navigation of recovery services
- Support for self-determination principles in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Grant allocation depends on how well the application meets the criteria, the number and quality of applications, and available funds.

How to Apply
Applications can be submitted through the Council’s online application form. Each eligible applicant can submit one application per project or event, with a maximum of five applications per organisation. It is recommended to discuss your event or program with a Recovery Officer before applying.
