The Seniors Program Grants are open to an incorporated non-profit organisation; Crown Committee of Management; Government department on behalf of a community group. If your organisation is none of these, please contact Council to discuss options.
Organisations based outside the Campaspe Shire are eligible to apply if the people benefiting from the grant reside in the shire.
Council will seek to fund projects and events that address one or more of the following:
  • Promote positive ageing
  • Inclusive and accessible for the aged community.
  • Encourage people from identified communities of priority to be involved ie
  1. Culturally and linguistically diverse
  2. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
  4. People living with disabilities
  5. People living with mental illness
  6. People living with social disadvantage
  7. Women
The funds are not available to be used for operational costs (ie. wages, insurance, electricity bills etc.).
An application for a Seniors Program Grant may not necessarily result in funding approval. Funding allocation is at the discretion of the assessment panel and based on the strength of the application.
If the project requires it, organisations will be requested to prove that they have the appropriate level of insurance cover by providing certificates of currency.
If an organisation is successful in obtaining funds they will be required to acquit those funds within that financial year and participate in evaluation of the program.
In the event that the grant money hasn’t been expended within the financial year, arrangements to use it for the following year can be made by contacting Council’s Community Development Coordinator by phoning 5481 2200.
Grants open on Monday, 11 July and close on Friday, 29 July 2022
Assessment will be undertaken by a panel made up of Council staff and be based on the strength of the project and the benefit that it will provide to the community.
Preference will be given to projects that promote positive ageing through increasing the health, wellbeing and social connectedness of the aged community in Campaspe.
Events hosted by aged care facilities need to be open to the broader senior’s community and not held exclusively for residents.

Successful applicants will agree to:
  • Abide by the signed Deed of Agreement and Conditions of Funding;
  • Expend the grant monies only in accordance with the successful project application. Any unspent funds must be returned to at the end of the grant period unless prior approval has been sought;
