Echuca East Community Precinct redevelopment

  • Project typeStaged infrastructure project
  • Project valueStaged project - multiple budget years
Parks and playgrounds

This project will see redevelopment of this precinct, designed to meet the needs of existing user groups and identify opportunities for new groups. The area adjoins Sutton Street and the Echuca East Primary School.

The precinct provides for passive and informal recreation activities such as after school care, school holiday programs, dog obedience classes, dog events, girl guides, quilting, community radio and various other activities. Despite the uses of the site, the majority of facilities no longer meet the needs of the community, are in poor condition, and not compliant with various regulations and are nearing the end of their useful life.

The project is being developed in stages.

Stage 1 - Master Plan
Endorsed by council in 2016.

Stage 2 - Concept Design

Stage 3 - Preliminary Design

Stage 4 - Detailed Design

Stage 5 - Construction
Stage 1 works underway from 16 July to February 2022
Stage 2 works scheduled for November to October 2022

Funding has been secured through the Community Loan Infrastructure Scheme for the multipurpose facility and landscaping.
