State government funding of $650,000 was announced for this project in October 2014. The $1.9 million project will create a vibrant open space that will service the community, today and into the future. 

The redevelopment - one of the largest funded recreation projects ever undertaken by Council - will transform the reserve into a modern, multi-purpose facility. The projects includes:

  • Upgrades to power
  • New lighting towers and lights to the netball courts and oval
  • Nine netball courts, six multi-purpose and three dedicated netball courts
  • New Irrigation systems to water sports oval and grassed area fronting pavilion
  • Sports oval reposition and realign to accommodate football, senior soccer, junior soccer and cricket
  • Carparking construction
  • Cricket practice nets
