Residents still able to have say
More than 320 residents took the time on Saturday to join in the Campaspe Conversation event, chatting to Councillors and staff.
Mayor, Cr Leigh Wilson, said the event, held for the fourth year, was a success and Councillors enjoyed meeting many residents across the region.
"I thank community members who took the time to meet with us on Saturday, it was great to hear first-hand your views and comments."
"Kyabram was much busier this year, Echuca a little quieter, and Rochester and Rushworth steady on previous numbers."
"The conversation was quite varied, from current local issues, to a general chat and catch-up, to lodging a service request."
"To date we have received 210 responses through our survey, but will leave the survey open through to 19 February to give residents time to participate," Cr Wilson said.
"A quick review of the responses to date shows that 83% did not participate in last year's event - up from 73% last year - which is good news that we have connected with even more people from across our Shire."
Staff had access to the IT system to assist in the lodgement or follow-up of service requests as well as the use of iPads for survey responses.
"I wish to thank our staff who gave up their Saturday morning to assist Councillors with this event."
A full review of the survey information will be undertaken once the survey is closed and will be reported back to the community in the March community newsletter.
