Celebrate International Women's Day with Echuca Library

Echuca Library will celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day with presentations from three successful female authors.

The evening will feature young adults author Fleur Ferris whose first novel Risk received a very positive response and is soon to release her second; Bendigo journalist and book reviewer Dianne Dempsey, author of The Fallen Girls; and popular writer Tess Evans. Tess is the author of bestsellers including The Book of Lost Threads, The Memory Tree and the recently released Mercy Street which is receiving excellent reviews.

The night will be a relaxed get together full of companionship, laughter and insights into the writers’ world.  Collins Books will be supporting the night and will have books available for sale and signings.

Library Services Manager Jenny Mustey said the event will showcase the achievements of these three women, and also shed some light on their personal journeys.

“It’s the first time we’ve celebrated International Women’s Day at the library, and what better way to mark it than with three successful local authors,” she said.

“The free event will give the opportunity for people to ask these authors the questions they’ve been wanting to know, while enjoying supper and maybe making some new friends.”

‘Every woman has a story’ is at 7pm on Tuesday, 8 March at the Echuca Library. Please RSVP for catering purposes by Friday, 4 March to libraries@campaspe.vic.gov.au or call 5481 2400.
