12 October 2017 - Media release
Campaspe Shire Council has announced a new sponsorship opportunity available for a community member with leadership aspirations through the Fairley Leadership Program in 2018.
Mayor Cr Adrian Weston said the program assists with the development of emerging leaders, people who are the key to positive change within our community.
“Sponsoring a community member through the leadership program will allow an up and coming individual the opportunity to further their professional and personal growth, and in turn contribute significantly to our community,” Cr Weston said.
The Fairley Leadership Program along with the Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program are two regional leadership programs that council currently supports who offer our local community detailed learning about regional issues and the methodology required in addressing them. The programs create partnerships with industry leaders and lifelong connections that aid in professional development.
“Participants are introduced to leaders in various industries including politics, sport, not for profit and community and are given a variety of training, key to their development in areas of public speaking, ethics, values and leadership styles.”
“The Fairley Leadership Program creates a network of leaders and builds relationships on trust and understanding. Through our vision of continued improved, we want to offer a funded sponsorship for one community leader, interested in community affairs to build upon their management skills,” Cr Weston said.
The sponsorship opportunity will cover the entry fee into the Fairley Leadership Program for the 2018 year.
Sponsorship applications are now open to be submitted to council by 5pm on Friday, 27 October. Applications should be accompanied by a completed Fairley Leadership application form and emailed to the attention of Kaye Mason [email protected]
