Campaspe Shire Council’s Community Grants Program is now open, offering funds to support local groups and organisations in the delivery of community projects and events.
Mayor, Cr Adrian Weston, said grants are provided in two rounds each year, with this round offering up to $110,000 to support applications.
“Council’s annual Community Grants Program recognises the efforts of community groups, clubs and other non-profit organisations by helping them to deliver projects, events and other activities that contribute to the wellbeing and quality of life for residents of Campaspe,” Cr Weston said.
“The grant program sees a vast array of projects and events delivered across our shire each year, from environmental initiatives, cultural exhibitions, community events and everything in between.”
Round one funding categories and allocations are as follows:
Community Support Grants
This category supports the delivery of programs, projects and activities that benefit the residents the shire with amounts available up to $4,000.
These grants aim to encourage and assist with community groups hosting local events. The maximum grants available are Community event $1,000; Minor event $3,000; and Major event $5,000.
“I encourage community groups to plan their grant application early,” Cr Weston said.
“Read the guidelines, plan your project, and importantly speak with a council officer, listed in the guidelines, about your application to ensure it meets the guidelines to give it every chance of success.”
Applications close Friday, 13 April and application forms and guidelines for the Community Grants Program can be downloaded from council’s website (click here) and are available in hard copy from all customer service centres.
Following assessment of applications, those recommended for approval will be considered at the June council meeting. Funds will be presented to successful groups in July 2018.
