Tongala Recreation Reserve Netting
Council has agreed to Tongala Football Netball Club’s request for the club to supply and install behind-goal netting at the Council-owned Tongala Reserve..
The request has been approved on the conditions that the club, as owner of the nets, pays for all capital, maintenance, renewal, removal and rectification costs. The nets must also be maintained to a specific standard otherwise the club will have to remove the nets at their own expense.
Progress of Council Plan Initiatives – Quarter 4 2020/21
Council has noted the progress and achievement of initiatives within the current Council Plan 2017/21 and funded under the 2020/21 Budget.
Of the 27 initiatives that were identified for the year,14 were completed, 10 are still in progress and three have not started.
Some of the completed initiatives for the year include:
- Engage the community in the Development of a 10-year community plan which sets the long-term vision for Campaspe
- Development of a new Arts and Culture Strategy to define Council’s role and level of services provided
- Delivering 87 immunisation sessions for the year, with a target of 70 sessions
- Undertaking 208 (high risk) food safety assessments across the shire, with a target of 200 sessions
- Engagement of the Gunbower community and development of detailed designs for the redevelopment of Gunbower Lions Park
- Awarding of the tender for construction of the Echuca East Community Precinct redevelopment
Progress of Capital Works Program - Quarter 4 2020/21
Council has noted the final report of the annual Capital Works Program as at 30 June 2021.
The 2020/21 financial year included 103 projects with a total budget of $38.05 million.
Of these, 69 projects were completed, 20 have been carried over to 2021/22, and 14 were identified as multi-year projects that are expected to be completed this financial year.
Community Event Sponsorships Approved
In-kind support to the value of $6,590 has been approved as part of the Community Event Sponsorship Program. The grant recipients are as follows:
- Echuca Basketball Association Inc. will receive in-kind support to the value of $5,000 to waive the cost of hiring the Echuca Basketball Stadium for the 2021 Echuca Junior Basketball Tournament to be held from 24 – 26 September 2021.
- Kyabram Swimming Club Inc. will receive in-kind support to the value of $1,590 to waive the cost of hiring the Echuca War Memorial Aquatic Centre (wet area only) for the Kyabram Long Distance/Long Course meet to be held from 23 – 24 October 2021.
