Recreation fees and charges

Campaspe Shire Council has adopted a revised Recreation Fees and Charges Policy which provides flexibility to users in the event of unforeseen closure. The calculation of Fees and Charges will factor in periods of Recreation Reserve closure such as during pandemic, floods or maintenance. The updated policy aims to prevent user groups being charged higher fees and charges during periods of decreased usage.

Grant application for Rochester Recreation Reserve

Council has agreed to proceed with a $250,000 grant application for the Rochester Recreation Reserve Moon Oval Lighting Upgrade through Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Country Football Netball Program.

This project was nominated by the Rochester community as part of the consultation process and is included in the committee-funded Master Plan for the Reserve. The Committee and user groups have also committed $312,000 to the project.

Reclassification of Two Tree Road and Davis Road

Council has authorised the Chief Executive Officer to commence negotiation with the Department of Transport and Planning (DoTP) for the transfer management responsibility of Two Tree Road and Davis Road to DoTP due to the significance of these locations for the state of Victoria’s landfilling and composting services.

Davis Road provides access to Patho landfill operated by Veolia, and Two Tree Road is home to Biomix, one of the largest compost providers in Victoria.

Gravel roads resheeting contract awarded

Council has accepted a tender of $1,648,368.70 from ReCivil Pty Ltd for additional resheeting of gravel roads in Campaspe Shire.

The contract is funded by the Federal Government Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program (Stage 3), with works to be completed by 30 June 2023.
