There will be no Council kerbside collection on Christmas Day, Monday 25 December which means that during the week following Christmas, from Boxing Day, Tuesday 26 December until Saturday, 30 December, kerbside collection services will operate one day late.

Director Sustainability Michael Sharp said that the Christmas public holiday would affect the whole of Campaspe shire.

“If your usual collection day is Monday, your bins will be collected on Tuesday; if your usual collection day is Tuesday, bins will be collected Wednesday and so on until Saturday, 30 December.

“Kerbside collection services will resume as normal from Monday, 1 January 2024,” Mr Sharp added.

Collection dates across the municipality will change as follows:

Usual collection day                Change to

Monday, 25 December               Tuesday, 26 December

Tuesday, 26 December              Wednesday, 27 December

Wednesday, 27 December         Thursday, 28 December

Thursday, 28 December             Friday, 29 December

Friday, 29 December                 Saturday, 30 December

“As always, to ensure your bins are collected, please place them outside the night before. Then you can relax, and enjoy a sleep-in, not worrying about your bin being missed,” said Mr Sharp.

If for some reason a collection is missed, residents can always take their rubbish to any of Campaspe’s  Resource Recovery Centres Colbinabbin, Echuca, Gunbower, Lockington, Mount Scobie, Rochester, Rushworth and Toolleen for a fee. Recycling (items you would normally put in your yellow lid bin) can be taken to any of the transfer stations at no charge.

All eight Resource Recovery Centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Services will operate as usual on all other dates. For additional information about our Resource Recovery Centres locations and opening hours click here, or call us on 1300 666 535.
