Draft Environment Strategy

Council has endorsed the draft Environment Strategy which is now open for community comment. The strategy provides guidance and direction to Council on environmental issues and looks at what environmental acitivites Council must do, as well as chooses to do. The four themes within the strategy are conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, community engagement and partnerships and Council’s responsibilities. Comments close Friday, 19 August. Submit your feedback via Council’s website.

Rural Tree Scheme

Native seedlings are now available to rural landowners in Campaspe Shire at a subsidised cost. The Rural Tree Scheme contains around 40 native plant species that are well suited to the Campaspe climate and soil types. To be eligible, you must own property in the farm, rural living or rural conservation zones. You can complete an online order form or download an order form from Council’s website, pick one up at one of Council’s Customer Service Centres or have one posted to you.

Tenders

22035 – Provision of Veterinary Services

Council requires the services of an appropriately qualified veterinary practice to provide services to the Campaspe Animal Shelter and associated services. A copy of the specification can be downloaded from Council’s website. Tender close at 2pm on Tuesday, 16 August.

22036 – Kyabram Edis Street Open Drain Works

Council requires the services of a qualified and experienced contractor to undertake renewal works on the Edis Street open drain. A copy of the documents can be downloaded from Council’s website. Tenders close at 2pm on Friday, 19 August.

22037 – Expression of Interest – Rushworth Library And Service Centre Refurbishment

Council is seeking contractors to submit their expressions of interest for refurbishment works of the Rushworth Library and Service Centre. Only contractors who lodge an Expression of Interest will be eligible for assessment and an opportunity to progress to the selective tender stage. A non-compulsory site meeting will be held onsite at 11am on Tuesday, 9 August. A copy of the documents can be downloaded from Council’s website. Expressions of interest close at 2pm on Tuesday, 19 August.

Notice of Intention to Sell Land

Council gives notice under section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 (the Act) of its intention to sell by private treaty the following parcel of land (the Land):

Lot 1 on proposed PS827036S, comprised in Certificate of Title Volume 11549 Folio 506 known as Corner of Wilkinson Drive and Coliban Street, Echuca, to Sandhurst Catholic Early Childhood Education & Care Limited for a total of $104.00 (GST inclusive).

The proposed sale will be subject to contractual terms satisfactory to Council. Any person may make a submission on the proposal to sell the Land. Any person wishing to make a submission can do so in writing by Wednesday, 31 August 2022. All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 114 of the Act. Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the Land, part of the Land or not to sell the Land. Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and can be delivered to Council’s Civic Centre at 2 Heygarth Street, Echuca, emailed to [email protected] or posted to Campaspe Shire Council, PO Box 35, Echuca, 3564. Submissions received on the proposed sale of the Land may be included in the Council Agenda and Minutes published on Council’s website, including the personal information of the submitter. Please indicate in your submission if you do not wish your personal information to be identified in the Agenda and Minutes. Any person requesting to be heard in support of their submission is entitled to be heard before Council (or its committee established by Council for this purpose) or represented by a person acting on his or her behalf and will be notified of the time and date of the hearing.

Calendar Photo Competition

Submit your most sensational snaps in the annual #MyCampaspe calendar photo competition! The competition opens for entries as of Wednesday, 3 August. This year, the image that wins the cover photo will also receive a month’s coverage inside the calendar. Photos must be located in Campaspe Shire, high quality and in landscape orientation. Up to five photos can be entered by each person with each winning entry receiving $50. Apply online via Council’s website under the tab ‘Now Open’.

Road Renaming

Council has received a request to rename a section of Luth Street (West), Echuca between Tech School Road and Murray Valley Highway. It is proposed to rename the section to Eucalypt Court, Echuca. Please note the renaming is subject to approval from the Office of Geographic Names. Any persons who wish to make a submission to the proposed name has a maximum of 30 days to notify Council in writing. All submissions are to be addressed to Assets Department by 1 September 2022.
