Project Update

Notice of Intention to Sell Land

Council gives notice under section 189 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act) of its intention to sell by private treaty the following parcels of land (the Land):

  • Lot 1 on TP114017K, comprised in Certificate of Title Volume 9726 Folio 868 known as 32 Ramsay Street, Rochester, to Robert White and Judith Burgin for a total of $10,450.00 (GST inclusive).
  • Crown Allotment 43A, Section B on TP341251H, comprised in Certificate of Title Volume 8462 Folio 466 known as 520 Scobie Road, Kyvalley, to Kyvalley Tennis Club Inc for a total of $110.00 (GST inclusive).

The proposed sale will be subject to contractual terms satisfactory to Council.

Any person may make a submission on the proposal to sell the Land. Any person wishing to make a submission can do so in writing by Friday, 23 July 2021. All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act. Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the Land, part of the Land or not to sell the Land.

Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and can be delivered to Council’s Civic Centre at 2 Heygarth Street, Echuca, emailed to [email protected] or posted to Campaspe Shire Council, PO Box 35, Echuca, 3564.

Submissions received on the proposed sale of the Land may be included in the Council Agenda and Minutes published on Council’s website, including the personal information of the submitter. Please indicate in your submission if you do not wish your personal information to be identified in the Agenda and Minutes.

Any person requesting to be heard in support of his or her submission is entitled to be heard before Council (or its committee established by Council for this purpose), or represented by a person acting on his or her behalf, and will be notified of the time and date of the hearing.

Expressions of Interest

Audit & Risk Committee

Expressions of Interest are sought for:

Two external full members (1 to commence immediately and 1 to be appointed from 31 December 2021) to participate on the Campaspe Shire Council’s Audit & Risk Committee, which is a committee of Council that provides independent and objective advice on matters relating to financial and performance reporting, governance, risk, internal controls and accounting disclosures.

Criteria for appointment is experience and/or qualifications in at least one of the following areas: accounting, auditing, risk management, governance or public sector executive management. Independent members are appointed to the committee for a term of up to 4 years and receive a small allowance.

One external affiliate member (to be appointed from 31 December 2021) to participate on the Campaspe Shire Council’s Audit & Risk Committee. The criteria for the appointment of an external affiliate member will be relevant skills, qualifications and experience as for full members and lives and works within the Shire of Campaspe. Applications for the position of affiliate member must be accompanied with a letter of support from a senior colleague. Affiliate members are appointed to the committee for a term of up to 2 years.

Expressions of Interest should detail the background of the applicant and nominate which position is being applied for and must be in writing, addressed to Chief Executive Officer, Campaspe Shire Council, PO Box 35, Echuca Vic 3564, by Friday, 16 July 2021. A selection panel will interview applicants prior to making any recommendation for appointment to Council.

New bin collection services

Changes to Campaspe’s kerbside bin collection services for residential, commercial and rural properties come into effect from Monday, 5 July.

All properties with changes will shortly receive a letter advising their new collection schedule. The information is also available online at www.campaspe.vic.gov.au/binservices

Council invites tenders for:

Tender 21029
Redevelopment of the Rochester Community Play Space, including civil works, landscaping, fencing, installation of play equipment and custom structures. A non-compulsory site meeting has been scheduled for Friday, 25 June at 11am onsite. Tender closes 2pm on 5 July.

Tender 21028
The upgrade of the electrical infrastructure at the Echuca Holiday Park including the main switchboard, mains cabling and field switchboards. A compulsory site meeting has been scheduled for Friday, 25 June at 11am onsite. Tender closes 2pm on 5 July.

Tender 21030
Redevelopment of the Gunbower Lions Park including landscaping, footpath network, fishing jetty and accessible canoe launch, tractor relocation, BBQ and shelter and a natural play space. A non-compulsory site meeting has been scheduled for Friday, 2 July at 11am onsite. Tender closes 2pm on 15 July.

Kyabram Flood Study

The draft study is now out for final community comment. The study identifies the extent and depth of flooding and associated risks of a number of flood events at varying levels, and how the drainage system would perform in each instance. To assist the community, drop-in sessions are planned at the Kyabram Community & Learning Centre, 25 Lake Road:

  • Thursday, 8 July – 10am to noon; 2 to 4pm; 5.30 to 7.30pm.
  • Tuesday, 13 July - 10am to noon; 2 to 4pm; 5.30 to 7.30pm.

Campaspe Thriving: Your feedback

Following Council’s engagement program conducted in February and March this year, summary sheets of community feedback have now been released.

Council is calling on the community to take a look at the summary sheets and advise if something is missing or misinterpreted.

Results are available each township as well as shire-wide and are available at link.
