Rushworth residents, it is your time to tell Council about your ambitions for your town.

The Rushworth community is invited to come along to Gus and Ollies Café on Thursday, 8 June from 9.30am to the launch of the Rushworth Place Based Plan community engagement phase of this important document.

The session will focus on introducing the community to the tools that will be used to help gather ideas and opinions about the future of Rushworth. Residents will be encouraged to use the conversation kit or the community survey (available on the day), to provide its collective ambitions for the future.

Campaspe Shire Council Acting Director Community, Andrew Fletcher said that Council staff will be available for people to come and share their ideas in person, as well as NBN representatives who will discuss the change to households in the area.

“This is our first opportunity for community members in Rushworth to contribute their ideas to the future Place Based Plan. We’re excited about the launch of the engagement process and are looking forward to collaborating with the community on their vision for the future of Rushworth. Throughout the next 8 weeks Council and the Community Committee will be proactive in reaching out to groups and individuals to participate.

“There will be another pop-in session on Saturday, 17 June at the Rushworth Market, for those who can’t make a weekday session. We also have options to provide feedback via the online survey.

“There will be an opportunity for residents to chat with representatives from NBN and the changes that are coming to Rushworth. Specifically, it’s an opportunity for the Rushworth community to clarify what benefits NBN has to them and how to make the switch,” Mr Fletcher added.

In addition to the pop-up session and online survey, residents are encouraged to visit the Rushworth Service Centre if they would like assistance to complete the survey.

The pop-up session details are as follows:

  1. Thursday, 8 June from 9.30am – 12.30pm at Gus and Ollies Café
  2. Saturday, 17 June from 9.00am – 12.30pm at Rushworth Market
