The Victorian Seniors Festival program is once again going virtual with online performances and at-home activities available for our ‘life experienced’ community members.

Campaspe Shire Council General Manager Development, Paul McKenzie said while it isn’t the same as being there in person, the online nature of the festival now means that everyone has access to the diverse program available throughout October.

“The Campaspe Library has prepared free ‘make at home’ art and craft activities, designed specifically for seniors,” Mr McKenzie said.

“From Monday, 11 October, activity packs full of goodies will be available to pickup from your closest Campaspe Library.”

“Participants will be able to assemble and paint their own clocks, enjoy stories and poems, and test their knowledge with trivia questions and a quiz.”

“The following week the library will offer a second activity pack, which includes a beautiful document folder and photo frame which you can bring to life with your own artistic skills.”

To receive the packs, you must register via the library website, or call on 5481 2400 and select the library closest to you.

The community is also able to enjoy a diverse and rich mix of monthly programming online at www.seniorsonline.vic.gov.au and on radio.

The line-up features creative programming that expresses continuity, optimism for the future and learnings from generation to generation.

To assist senior’s mobility, eight days of free public transport covering all metropolitan services, all V/line services and all regional town bus services is available for Victorian Seniors Card holders for the period Sunday, 3 October to Sunday, 10 October 2021.
