Governance Rules – 2025 Review for Community Feedback

Council is reviewing its Governance Rules, and is seeking community feedback on the proposed changes.

Council’s Governance Rules set out:

  • how Council Meetings are run;
  • the way conflicts of interest are managed; and
  • the way Council and Councillors will operate during an election period.

The proposed changes support the Chair to run Council Meetings in a transparent and fair way. They also support Council’s commitment to the highest standards of governance and conduct.

A table outlining the reasons for the proposed changes is provided here(PDF, 211KB) , and a marked-up copy of the existing Rules can be found here(PDF, 940KB) . You are welcome to provide your feedback, which will be considered before a final version of the revised Governance Rules is presented to Council at a future meeting for adoption.
