Celebrating Victorian Seniors Festival

Campaspe Libraries are celebrating the 2022 Victorian Seniors Festival with a variety of free events and activities for the community.

Mayor Chrissy Weller said the Echuca Library would be receiving several visits by notable Australian authors.

“Thanks to Collins Booksellers Echuca, we are excited to be co-hosting Craig Silvey, author of award winning novel Jasper Jones and Honeybee. Claiming many major literary awards, Jasper Jones has firmly embedded itself into Australian culture, while Honeybee sits at number one on the Better Reading 2022 Top Reads.

“If you’re interested in attending Craig’s visit, bookings must be made through Collins Booksellers Echuca.

“Crime novelist Robert Gott, author of the William Power series will also be visiting, as will Tony Hughes, author of A Remarkable Voyage.”

Mayor Weller said other activities were also on offer.

“The Coffee with a Cop event is very popular, allowing the community to get to know their local police officers.

“Of course, the libraries’ regular activities are always available, including the over 55’s social afternoons every Monday, book clubs, cards, knitting, and other groups.”

All activities are of free of charge. Bookings are essential and can be made by calling 5481 2400 or via Council’s website under ‘Library’.
