Get into the swim of summer with Campaspe Aquatics

Campaspe Shire Council is pleased to announce that free regular entry is again being provided this summer to the Colbinabbin, Kyabram, Lockington, Rushworth, Stanhope and Tongala outdoor pools – just in time for what is tipped to be a hot summer.
Free season passes are available via the Council’s website. Simply create or log in to your account to register for a free season pass, which will be valid at all Campaspe Shire outdoor pools for the duration of the season.
Director Communities Jo Bradshaw said this was a fantastic initiative that promoted opportunities for relaxation and recreation in the warmer months.
“Coming into summer, we are delighted to again provide free pool access for the community.
“The outdoor pools offer the chance for residents and visitors to enjoy the beautiful weather in our region.”
The outdoor pool season has commenced and will continue until Monday 10 March 2025. During school terms Campaspe Shire’s outdoor pools are open from 4pm to 8pm weekdays and from 1pm to 8pm on weekends. During school holidays the pools are open from 1pm to 8pm every day except Christmas Day.
The Rochester District War Memorial Swimming Pool closed following the 2022 floods. At the March 2024 Council meeting, funding was allocated for the design of a new aquatic facility in the same location and the demolition and re-landscaping of the site to a public access space while funding is sourced to build the new facility. Demolition of the pool began on 3 December and is expected to be completed by 20 December, with fill and landscaping works to begin after Christmas.
“With the Tongala and Lockington pools less than a 20-minute drive away, Rochester residents are encouraged to utilise these or any of the other outdoor pools around the shire,” Ms Bradshaw said.
Campaspe Shire Council is also running its annual Bush Nippers river safety program for children aged 5 to 14 years, designed to educate young swimmers about river safety and offer lifelong lifesaving skills.
