Public health and safety

Campaspe Shire Council is now offering public flu vaccinations, with additional sessions scheduled in May across the shire.

General Manager Development, Paul McKenzie, said while Council has received the full allocation of flu vaccinations, booking is essential so that Covid-safe regulations continue to be met.

“Council’s flu vaccination is free for those under 5 years of age and over 65 years of age, or individuals in the high risk category. The cost for all other community members is $30,” Mr McKenzie said.

“Residents must pay for flu vaccinations, by eftpos or credit card only, at their designated immunisation session.”

“While the community is generally more diligent with hygiene and is accustomed to social distancing, the flu vaccination remains an important annual vaccine to help prevent serious illness.”

Council is expecting to administer close to 2,000 doses of the flu vaccine by the end of May.
