Project update

The stormwater pumping station at Gamble Court, Colbinabbin was recently replaced and is expected to be fully operational this month. The pump station operates so that large volumes of stormwater can be drained away to the creek when it cannot naturally be carried by gravity.

2023-24 Budget Adopted

The 2023-24 Budget was adopted by Council on Tuesday, 20 June. The Budget may be viewed on, or downloaded from, Council’s website.

Seniors Program Grants

The Seniors Program Grants is now open for applications. Applications of up to $1,000 can be made to fund innovative projects that effectively address social isolation for seniors. This could include, but is not limited to, activities that re-engage seniors and directly support seniors’ programs or support to develop new skills or talents. Applications must be submitted using the Seniors Program Grant application form and can be handwritten or entered online at Council’s website. Applications close Monday, 7 August.

Tenders

The select tender process for the second stage of the Rushworth Streetscape Renewal opened on 17 July with the aim of awarding the contract by mid-September and commencing works thereafter.

Kyabram – Breen Avenue Pop Up Information session

The Kyabram community is invited to come along to an information session to find out more about the Breen Avenue shared user path on Wednesday, 26 July from 4-7pm at Council’s Kyabram Service Centre, 19 Lake Road. Public Notice of Intention to Sell Land

Council gives notice under section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 (the Act) of its intention to sell by private treaty the following parcel of land (the Land):

  • Lot 1 PS430972L comprised in Certificate of Title Volume 10671 Folio 112 located at 7 Greiner Court, Tongala to James Wild for a total of $71,500.00 (GST inclusive).

The proposed sale will be subject to contractual terms satisfactory to Council.

Any person may make a submission on the proposal to sell the Land. Any person wishing to make a submission can do so in writing by Thursday, 24 August 2023. All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 114 of the Act. Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the Land, part of the Land or not to sell the Land.

Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and can be delivered to Council’s Service Centre at 2 Heygarth Street, Echuca, emailed to [email protected] or posted to Campaspe Shire Council, PO Box 35, Echuca, 3564.

Submissions received on the proposed sale of the Land may be included in the Council Agenda and Minutes published on Council’s website, including the personal information of the submitter. Please indicate in your submission if you do not wish your personal information to be identified in the Agenda and Minutes.

Any person requesting to be heard in support of their submission is entitled to be heard before Council (or its committee established by Council for this purpose) or represented by a person acting on their behalf and will be notified of the time and date of the hearing.

Public Notice of Intention to Lease Land

Council gives notice under section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020 (the Act), of its intention to lease the premises described below (the proposal).

The building known as Riverfront Kiosk, located at 14 Watson Street, Echuca, on part of the land contained in Crown Folio Statement Volume 11904 Folio 704. A plan of the leased area (the premises) can be viewed on Council’s website.

The proposal is that the premises be leased by private treaty to Watson St Pavilion Pty Ltd (the prospective tenant). 

The principal terms of the lease will be:

  • An initial lease term of 3 years with 6 further options of 3 years each, giving a combined possible lease period of 21 years if all options are exercised by the prospective tenant;
  • The permitted use of the premises will be for kiosk/café/restaurant and function venue;
  • Year 1 of initial term to be rent free, followed by annual rent of $24,200 (inclusive of GST) and thereafter adjusted on an annual basis to CPI and adjusted to Market Review on the commencement of any further term.

The proposal will be subject to contractual terms satisfactory to Council.

Any person may make a submission on the proposal to lease the premises. Any person wishing to make a submission can do so in writing by Thursday, 24 August 2023. Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may resolve to either proceed or not to proceed with the proposed lease.
