Place Based Plan and Township Facility Plan Committees
Expressions of Interest are now open to join a number of committees:
- Lockington Place Based Plan Committee
- Rochester Place Based Plan Committee
- Colbinabbin Township Facility Plan Committee
- Tongala Township Facility Plan Committee
Applications for the Colbinabbin, Lockington and Rochester committees close on Friday, 21 October. Applications for the Tongala committee close on Friday, 14 October. Full details and how to apply is available on Council’s website.
Pre Budget Proposals
Council is calling on the community to lodge pre budget proposals prior to the development of Council’s draft 2023/24 budget. To lodge a pre budget proposal, go to Council’s website and complete the online form. Proposals can be lodged up to 5pm on Sunday, 30 October. The draft 2023/24 budget will be released in April 2023. You will be advised of the outcome of your proposal once the draft is completed.

Tenders
CT000636 - Provision of TechOne System Support and Training
In collaboration with the City of Greater Bendigo, Council invites tenders for the provision of TechOne System Support and Training via a panel of suppliers’ contract. Tenders close at 3pm on Tuesday, 1 November. Tender documents can be accessed by registering at: www.eprocure.com.au/bendigo/
22053 - Sealed Road Resurfacing Program 2022/23
Council invites tenders from contractors for the supply and spraying of bituminous materials, the supply and spreading of aggregate and all other activities associated with sealing works. Council intends to award a contract on a 1+1+1 basis. The successful contractor may have a total of three years resealing works with Council. A copy of the documents can be downloaded from Council’s website. Tenders close at 2pm on Thursday, 3 November.
Phone Survey
As part of Place Based Planning and Township Facility Planning, Council has engaged ‘New Focus’ to undertake a telephone survey on outdoor pools. Please be aware that you may be randomly contacted by New Focus and asked questions on the pools which will be recorded. This is to gather as much information as possible for each town’s Place Based Plan and Township Facility Plan Committees to review, as well as to support Council with any future decisions.

In celebration of Children’s Week, Council is inviting kids of all ages to join an educational virtual cooking webinar on Thursday, 20 October from 6 – 7pm. With a focus on simple ways to reduce food waste, kids can cook along with their parent or guardian while watching the webinar on Zoom. Road Management Plan
The persistent rain events experienced throughout the municipality in recent months, have created current wet conditions that are not suitable for maintenance grading and have resulted in lost time for maintenance grading.
Therefore, Council is temporarily unable to comply with the Plan. Accordingly based on Section 83 and 84 of the Victorian Wrongs Act, Council has suspended the Plan to extend the response times to undertake maintenance grading. The suspension is effective from 10 October to 11 December 2022.
Council will continue to work on roads that have not been impacted by the inclement weather conditions and the municipality considers it safe and reasonable to do so.
Accordingly, based on Section 83 and 84 of the Victorian Wrongs Act, this municipality temporarily alters its Road Management Plan as follows:
