Community Grants

The Community Grants Program offers financial support to not-for-profit community organisations, groups and associations for projects, exhibitions and/or performances. The maximum grant amount is $4,000. Applications close at 4pm on Friday, 9 September. If you require assistance with your application, contact Bobbi Aitken on 1300 666 535.

Business Assistance Grants

The Business Assistance Grants Program assists businesses to either diversify or expand and also encourages new businesses to start up. There are four grant categories; start up/new business, small business, medium business and large business. Applications close at 4pm on Friday, 9 September. Project Update

Construction works at Groves Weir Bridge in Colbinabbin are progressing with road approach safety barrier strip footings complete. 

drumMUSTER Collection Day

Farmers and chemical users are invited to dispose of empty chemical drums at a drumMUSTER Collection Day at the Colbinabbin Transfer Station on Tuesday, 6 September between 9am – 12noon. Drums eligible for disposal include all drums branded with the drumMUSTER logo that have held agricultural chemicals, dairy chemicals, detergents, liquid fertilisers and other non-hazardous farm chemicals. All drums for disposal must be plastic or metal, one litre to 205 litres in size, at least triple rinsed until free of any visible chemical residue, clean and dry, punctured if metal and have all lids removed.

EOI 22041 – Port of Echuca Log Slip, Winch and Steam Engine Refurbishment

Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to restore the log slip, winch and steam engine at the Port of Echuca in Murray Esplanade. A copy of the documents can be downloaded from Council’s website. Expressions of interest close at 2pm on Monday, 29 August.

Tender 22045 – Supply & Delivery of Hook Lift Skips

Council requires the supply and delivery of up to 24 lidded hook lift skips that are compatible with Council’s bulk haulage contractor’s hook lift trucks. A copy of the documents can be downloaded from Council’s website. Tenders close at 2pm on Monday, 29 August.

Notice of Intention to Discontinue a Road and Sell the Subject Land

Pursuant to Section 206(1) and Clause 3(a) of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act), Council proposes to discontinue part of the laneway known as Bradley Street, Kyabram shown hatched on the plan below.

Any person may make a submission in respect of the proposed discontinuance. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by Wednesday, 14 September. All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act.

Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may resolve to proceed, proceed with conditions, or not proceed, with the proposed discontinuance of the road. Should Council resolve to proceed with the proposed discontinuance then pursuant to Section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 (Act 2020), Council intends to sell by private treaty the subject land to Snodad Pty Ltd as Trustee for J.L. McIlroy Family Trust for a total of $14,300.00 (GST inclusive). The proposed sale will be subject to contractual terms satisfactory to Council.

Any person may make a submission on the proposal to sell the Land. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by Wednesday, 14 September. All submissions will be considered in accordance with Section 114 of the Act 2020. Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the Land, part of the Land or not to sell the Land.

Submissions should be addressed to the Interim Chief Executive Officer and can be delivered to Council’s Civic Centre at 2 Heygarth Street, Echuca, emailed to [email protected] or posted to PO Box 35, Echuca VIC 3564.

Submissions received on the proposed discontinuance or sale of the land may be included in the Council Agenda and Minutes published on Council’s website, including the personal information of the submitter. Please indicate in your submission if you do not wish your personal information to be identified in the Agenda and Minutes.

Any person who has made a submission can request in the submission that they wish to appear in person or represented by a person acting on their behalf, to be heard in support of their submission before Council (or its committee established by Council for this purpose) and will be notified of the time and date of the hearing.
