Pre Budget Proposals
Council is calling on the community to put forward any proposals for consideration prior to the development of Council’s 2022/23 Budget. You can lodge your pre budget proposal by going to Council’s website and completing the online form. Submissions close Friday, 6 January.

Free Green Waste Disposal

To assist in cleaning up properties prior to the fire season, residents will be able to dispose of green waste free of charge at any of Council’s eight transfer stations for four weeks, the exemption period running from Saturday, 10 December to Sunday, 8 January. All transfer stations are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Tenders

Council invites tenders for the following:

22062 – Colbinabbin – Gamble Court Pump Well Renewal
The replacement of the existing pump well, pumps and associated electrical plumbing at the Gamble Court Storm Water Pump Station in Colbinabbin. Tenders close at 2pm on Friday, 23 December.

22063 – Echuca – Campaspe Aquatics Gym Equipment
The lease of replacement gym equipment due for renewal. Tenders close at 2pm on Wednesday, 21 December.

22064 – LRCI Stage 3 – Shire Wide Solar Program
The design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, training, and handover of roof mounted Grid Connected Photovoltaic (PV) systems, with battery storage where applicable, at various buildings. Tenders close at 2pm on Monday, 16 January.

Farmers Forum

At 7pm on Thursday, 8 December, join us for a free informal get together to hear from Agriculture Victoria discussing pasture, livestock and animal health topics. Held at OTP Tongala Hotel Motel, help will be available for you to access funding opportunities following the floods and excess rain. Dinner is included. Numbers are limited. Early Closure – Thursday, 15 December

Council service centres and libraries will close for business early on Thursday, 15 December. Service centres and libraries in Kyabram, Rochester, Rushworth and Tongala will close at 12 noon and in Echuca, close at 1pm. For urgent enquiries, call 1300 666 535 and follow the prompts.

Road Management Plan

The wet weather and flooding experienced throughout the municipality in recent months have created conditions that are not suitable for maintenance grading and have resulted in lost time. Therefore, Council is temporarily unable to comply with the Plan. Accordingly based on Section 83 and 84 of the Victorian Wrongs Act, Council has extended the suspension of the Plan to extend the response times to undertake maintenance grading. The suspension extension is effective from 11 December 2022 to 30 April 2023. Council will continue to work on roads that have not been impacted by the inclement weather and flooding if considered safe and reasonable to do so. Accordingly, based on Section 83 and 84 of the Victorian Wrongs Act, this municipality temporarily alters its Road Management Plan as follows:

Notice of Approval of Amendment C118camp

The Minister for Planning has approved Amendment C118camp to the Campaspe Planning Scheme. The Amendment comes into operation on the date this notice is published in the Victoria Government Gazette. The Amendment replaces the Municipal Strategic Statement and the Local Planning Policy Framework at Clause 21 and Clause 22 of the Campaspe Planning Scheme with a Municipal Planning Strategy, local policies within the Planning Policy Framework and revised local schedules to zones, overlays, particular provisions, general provisions and operational provisions, consistent with the structure introduced by Amendment VC148 and implements the Smart Planning local schedules update, several pieces of completed strategic work and zone and overlay changes.
