The Campaspe Food Network invites the community to share their views on the local food system through a new survey. This survey seeks insights on issues and opportunities relating to how food is grown, distributed, and consumed.

The Campaspe Food network is made up of local health professionals, Council staff, local business owners, people who are passionate about food and local growers and producers.

The survey aims to shape the future of food production, distribution, consumption, and everything in between, reflecting the values and priorities of those who live and work in Campaspe Shire. Responses will inform Campaspe Food Network to develop a list of actions to advocate for change, to strengthen and sustain the region’s food supply.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell said “The journey food takes from paddock to plate and back again – brings together people from all walks of life, across industries, ages, and communities.

“The way food is produced in our communities has a significant impact on our health, wellbeing, environment, and local economy.”

Acting Healthy Loddon Campaspe Coordinator, Stephanie Mein said “Healthy Loddon Campaspe is pleased to support the Campaspe Food Network in launching this local food survey. The survey is a valuable opportunity for residents, farmers, and food businesses to share what matters to them when it comes to food. We’re looking forward to hearing from the community to help guide future initiatives that make healthy, local food more accessible for everyone.”

“The survey is easy to complete and open to all community members. Whether you’re a local farmer, a business owner, or simply someone who cares about where your food comes from, your opinion matters” Cr Mackrell said.

The results will be used to guide potential strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing the sustainability, accessibility, and resilience of the Campaspe Shire’s food system.

How to Participate: To take part in the survey, please visit www.campaspe.vic.gov.au/FoodSystemsSurvey

The survey will be open until 16 May 2025, 5pm. It should only take a few minutes to complete.

The Campaspe Food Network is committed to creating a food system that works for everyone. Your participation will play a key role in shaping the future of food in our region.
