Water-based fun coming to Rochester
Published on 17 December 2024
Water-based fun is coming to Rochester in January! Campaspe Shire Council has organised for an inflatable water slide and Zorb balls to be available at Rochester Racecourse Recreation Reserve for three days a week throughout January, offering an exhilarating way to cool down during the summer school holidays.
Beginning on 6 January, community members and visitors can try out the water slide and Zorb balls at the recreation reserve between 2pm and 6pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 10am to 2pm on Fridays.
The activities are particularly suitable for families with younger children aged from four years to teenagers.
Council’s Acting Director Communities Janelle Wheatley said the inflatables offered the chance for Rochester residents to enjoy water-based fun in their own town this summer, while works are underway to remove the community’s outdoor pool which was damaged beyond repair during the 2022 floods.
“We are committed to delivering opportunities for Rochester residents and visitors to take part in water-based activities while we source funding to build a new aquatic facility for the community,” Ms Wheatley said.
Campaspe Shire Council is again offering free regular entry to the Colbinabbin, Kyabram, Lockington, Rushworth, Stanhope and Tongala outdoor pools this summer. Free season passes are available via the Council’s website. Simply create or log in to your account to register for a free season pass, which will be valid at all Campaspe Shire outdoor pools for the duration of the season, which continues until Monday, 10 March.
During school terms, Campaspe Shire’s outdoor pools are open from 4pm to 8pm weekdays and from 1pm to 8pm on weekends. During school holidays the pools are open from 1pm to 8pm every day except Christmas Day.
