Campaspe Cohuna Local Learning & Employment Network

As a LLEN, we are a grouping of organisations and individuals interested and involved in the wellbeing, education, training and employment of young people. Our purpose is to support young people, particularly those who are vulnerable, to improve their engagement with education and training leading to the completion of Year 12 or its equivalent.

There are 31 LLENs across Victoria. The CCLLEN’s geographic boundary is inclusive of the Shire of Campaspe and Cohuna in the Gannawarra Shire. LLEN’s are funded by the Victorian Department of Education & Training.

Our stakeholder group encompasses education and training providers, business and industry, community organisations, industry and parents and families. The CCLLEN brokers partnerships with these stakeholders that assist with the successful transitioning of our young people through education and into employment.

LLENs across Victoria are funded to develop partnerships which result in an increase in the number and range of school-employer engagement activities, including:

  • Structured workplace learning, work experience and school community work
  • School based apprenticeships and traineeships
  • Guest speakers and presenters from industry
  • Workplace visits and industry tours
  • Mock interviews and work-readiness preparation

Campaspe Youth Partnerships

Youth Partnerships were originally funded in 2011 to design and test new ways for youth services across all sectors to work together more collaboratively to support vulnerable young people. The original funding ended in 2014, but our local partnership has continued, and expanded, with funding from various sources, most recently the R E Ross Trust.

The key goals of Youth Partnerships are to:

  • Improve engagement in education and training, and
  • Reduce the escalation of problems for individual young people.
