Created in 2015 Campaspe Shire Council created a Youth Charter consisting of a set of guiding principles that form the foundation of council's commitment to engaging with youth.

The Youth Charter was created in consultation with hundreds of young people as well as Councillors, council staff and service providers. There is willingness on both sides to move forward in a new way. Young people want to have more of a voice in their local community and council is committed to being more inclusive of youth in all aspects of their work and decision making.

The Charter is more than a document, it is a symbol of council's pledge to actively support young people in the shire and encourage and respect their ideas, opinions, talents and dreams for the future.
