This is a multi year program of works to upgrade the Victoria Park boat ramp and associated infrastructure.

Project outcomes are a safe and accessible boat launch and retrieval point for anglers, campers, water skiers, houseboating holidaymakers, canoeists, power boat enthusiasts, jet skiers and nature-lovers to easily access the Murray River.

In addition to the boat ramp upgrades, furniture and landscaping were completed between the river and the car park and traffic improvements to the car park were also completed.

The program has been subject to some delay due to the 2022 flood. The boat ramp forms part of a broader master plan for Victoria Park.

In November 2023, works began on removal of the existing boat ramp pavement from the top of the bank down to the existing concrete wet ramp, approximately 2 metres above the normal summer operating level. These finished in December 2023.

Stage 2 included renewal and upgrade to the wet ramp (submerged) pavement and existing retaining walls to include an all-abilities walkway ramp and a floating dock. The dock includes a crane to assist loading people with disability into boats. Works were completed between July 2024 and December 2024, during the off-season when the river water level was at its lowest.

In addition to the boat ramp upgrades, an electric BBQ, new wheelchair-accessible picnic tables, a bike maintenance rack, bike racks and an E-bike charging station have been installed, and the car park has been modified to improve traffic flow through the car park.

The boat ramp project works were officially opened by Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell, on 27 February 2025.
