Tender 24006 – Flood Emergency & Immediate Works (Civil) – Panel of Suppliers

Council is seeking to engage a panel of contractors to undertake immediate emergency flood works on assets impacted by the floods that may need emergency repairs and are seeking contractors to provide their schedule of rates to complete specific types of repair works. A copy of the specification can be downloaded from Council’s website. Tender closes 2pm, 14 February.

Expressions of Interest for Lockington Place Based Plan Committee

Nominations for the Lockington Place Based Plan committee originally opened in 2022, but due to the flooding event the formation of the committee was delayed. Now, in January 2024, nominations for the committee and the subsequent community consultation to draft a Place Based Plan for Lockington is recommencing. If you are interested in being involved in the Place Based Plan committee, complete the online Expressions of Interest form. EOIs close on 23 February.

Youth Action Group (YAG)

Young people are invited to join Council’s Youth Action Group (YAG). YAG members will provide a youth perspective on our key plans and strategies, direct youth funding towards desired programs, activities and events, and brief community groups, businesses and Council on issues that significantly impact young people in Campaspe. To be eligible for Youth Action Group membership, you must be a resident of Campaspe Shire aged between 12 and 25 years old. If you are under 18 years, you will require parent/guardian permission.

Port of Echuca Market EOI

Campaspe Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest from incorporated and co-operative organisations to host markets in the Port of Echuca precinct for the 2024-25 financial year. The EOI process will determine what markets are able to take place in the Port of Echuca for the upcoming year. Applications for commercial market holders will not be considered. All markets must support locally made or grown produce and products, second hand, crafts and handmade goods. Resellers are also not permitted at these markets.

Kath Koschel - Kindness Factory

Council is hosting an inspiring community presentation by Kath Koschel, founder of Kindness Factory, a global not for profit organisation and movement which inspires ordinary people to do extra ordinary things. A former professional cricketer and Iron Man competitor, Kath has defied all medical prognoses by teaching herself to walk on three separate occasions. Despite facing other serious personal, mental and physical setbacks, her resilience allowed her not only to overcome these challenges, but also see the good in the world when most others couldn’t.

Rochester Recovery Hub extended opening hours

The Rochester Recovery Hub is trialing longer hours on a Thursday to facilitate after hours meetings for residents who cannot visit during the day.

The new hours on a Thursday will be from 8.30am – 7pm. The Rochester Recovery Hub is the primary location for people to access services and support they need to recover from the recent floods. Come along to the Hub and find out more about the services available for our community.

Works Notice

Road surface replacement and gutter repairs on Watson Street and Law Court Place, between Dixon and Crofton Streets in Echuca is starting on Monday, 12 February and will take approximately eight weeks to complete. Road closures and detours will be in place, however access to private property will be maintained.
