Stage 2 of the Rushworth Streetscape works are now practically complete with remaining line marking works expected to occur during April 2024 to complete the project. Thanks to the Rushworth community for their support and patience throughout the project.

Job Skills Grants
Council’s Job Skills Grants are now open. The grant program involving a one off payment of up to $250 is designed to assist 16 to 25 year olds completing short courses and qualifications. Applications will close when the funding allocation is exhausted.

Free disaster waste disposal

The Victorian Government is providing free disaster waste to Campaspe Shire residents until 30 April. Residents who were impacted by disaster, including fires, storms and energy emergencies from 13 February onwards are able to dispose of their excess disaster waste at any of the eight Resource Recovery Centres in the shire. Notice of Intention to Discontinue a Road and Sell the Subject Land

Pursuant to Section 206(1) and Clause 3(a) of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act), Campaspe Shire Council (Council), proposes to discontinue part of the car park known as Mackay Street, Rochester shown hatched in red on the plan below.

Any person may make a submission in respect of the proposed discontinuance. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by Thursday, 9 May 2024. All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act.

Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may resolve to proceed, proceed with conditions, or not proceed, with the proposed discontinuance of the road. Should Council resolve to proceed with the proposed discontinuance then pursuant to Section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 (Act 2020), Council intends to sell by private treaty the subject land to the adjoining landowner for a total of $6,600.00 (GST inclusive).

The proposed sale will be subject to contractual terms satisfactory to Council.

Any person may make a submission on the proposal to sell the Land. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by Thursday, 9 May 2024. All submissions will be considered in accordance with Section 114 of the Act 2020. Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the Land, part of the Land or not to sell the Land.

Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and can be delivered to Council’s Offices at 2 Heygarth Street, Echuca, emailed to [email protected] or posted to Campaspe Shire Council, PO Box 35, Echuca VIC 3564.

Submissions received on the proposed discontinuance or sale of the land may be included in the Council Agenda and Minutes published on Council’s website, including the personal information of the submitter. Please indicate in your submission if you do not wish your personal information to be identified in the Agenda and Minutes.

Any person who has made a submission can request in the submission that they wish to appear in person or represented by a person acting on their behalf, to be heard in support of their submission before Council (or its committee established by Council for this purpose) and will be notified of the time and date of the hearing.
