Outdoor pools to open early

In response to COVID-19 restrictions impacting the reopening of the Echuca War Memorial Aquatic Centre (EWMAC), a staggered opening of Council’s outdoor pools will start earlier this year as follows:

Lockington and Stanhope

Friday, 6 November

Colbinabbin, Rushworth and Tongala

Friday, 20 November

All outdoor pools will operate on the existing opening hours and the minimum temperature requirements for opening remains in place. For more information on Council’s outdoor pool venues, times and admission costs, visit the Campaspe Aquatics website www.campaspeaquatics.com.au .

Identification must be shown at all accommodation venues, hair and beauty services, and hospitality businesses for sit down dining.

ID is not required when purchasing take away food.

Notice of intention to sell land

Council gives notice under section 189 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act) of its intention to sell, by private treaty, part of the parcel of land being part of Lot 2 on PS529165S, comprised in Certificate of Title Volume 10853 Folio 595 known as Echuca Aerodrome, 176 McKenzie Road, Echuca (the Land) to adjoining landowners Rodney Newlyn, Peter George and Christine George for a total of $4,000 (GST inclusive). The parcel is an irregular shape and, if the sale proceeds, will correct a historical encroachment.

The proposed sale will be subject to contractual terms satisfactory to Council.

Any person may make a submission on the proposal to sell the Land. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by Monday, 23 November 2020. All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act. Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the Land, part of the Land or not to sell the Land.

Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and can be delivered to Council’s Civic Centre at 2 Heygarth Street, Echuca, emailed to [email protected] or posted to Campaspe Shire Council, PO Box 35, Echuca, 3564.

Submissions received on the proposed sale of the Land may be included in the Council Agenda and Minutes published on Council’s website, including the personal information of the submitter. Please indicate in your submission if you do not wish your personal information to be identified in the Agenda and Minutes.

Any person who has made a submission can request in the submission that they wish to appear in person or be represented by a person acting on their behalf, to be heard in support of their submission before Council (or its committee established by Council for this purpose) and will be notified of the time and date of the hearing.

Notice of intention to discontinue a road and sell the subject land – Lockington

Pursuant to Section 206(1) and Clause 3(a) of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act), Council, proposes to discontinue the unnamed road shown hatched on the plan below.

Any person may make a submission in respect of the proposed discontinuance. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by Monday, 23 November 2020. All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act.

Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may resolve to proceed, proceed with conditions, or not proceed, with the proposed discontinuance of the road. Should Council resolve to proceed with the proposed discontinuance, then pursuant to Section 189 of the Act, Council intends to sell by private treaty the subject land to Kenneth Hann, the adjoining owner of the subject land for a total of $10,000 (GST inclusive) in accordance with Council Policy 69 Road Closures.

The proposed sale will be subject to contractual terms satisfactory to Council and subject to encumbrances in favour of Coliban Water.

Any person may make a submission on the proposal to sell the Land. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by Monday, 23 November 2020. All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act. Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the Land, part of the Land or not to sell the Land.

Have you registered your pool/spa?

New safety laws introduced by the Victorian Government require all landowners to register their swimming pool and spa with their local council by Sunday, 1 November 2020. Registrations can be made online through Council’s website, or by calling 1300 666 535. Failure to register can result in a fine. More information is available on Council’s website.
