Draft Residential Land Review
Council is seeking community feedback on the release of the draft Residential Land Review. The draft is the first step in a lengthy process of assessing land for future residential purposes. To provide feedback, go to Council’s website. Submissions close at 5pm on Friday, 30 September.

Australia Day awards now open
Nominations for the 2023 Australia Day awards are now open. Recipients must be a resident of Campaspe Shire and can be nominated in one of three categories: Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year or Community Group of the Year. Go to Council’s website for more information.

Council gives notice that the following fees have, under the Aerodrome Landing Fees Act 2003, been fixed and operate at the Echuca Aerodrome.

Walking Book Club

Combine the benefits of exercise and reading by joining Echuca Library’s Walking Book Club, with meetings held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 10.30am. The club will take a social stroll in the reserve behind the Echuca Library, then gather inside to discuss that month’s selected book. A monthly book will be available from the library’s front desk. The club is free, but registrations are required. For more information, contact the Echuca Library on 5481 2400.

Melbourne Cup Tour

The Annual Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour is coming to Campaspe. The Cup will visit Echuca Moama on Friday, 30 September, with a community celebration at Hopwood Gardens from 1.30-3.30pm. There will be lots of free activities including face painting, pony rides, a floral arbour for photos with the cup and the chance to meet Melbourne Cup winning jockey, John Letts. The Cup will travel to the Echuca Farmers Market at the Aquatic Reserve on Saturday, 1 October. It will also visit Stanhope on Friday, 14 October, with a free street parade in Birdwood Avenue at 12noon. For details, go to Council’s website

Impounded Livestock

Council has impounded four Black Angus x Friesian cattle under the Impounding of Livestock Act on Thursday, 15 September on Middle Road, Stanhope. The cattle are being held at the Echuca & District Livestock Exchange on McKenzie Road, Echuca. If not claimed after eight days, they will be disposed of. Port of Echuca, Strathmerton Station Retaining Wall Refurbishment

Council requires the services of a qualified and experienced contractor to undertake renewal works of the retaining wall within the Port of Echuca.
A non-compulsory site meeting will be held Wednesday, 5 October at 11am meeting at the northern end of the Port of Echuca (near A2 Locomotive).
