The annual WickED (Waste in Campaspe – Know Educate Do) survey aimed at gathering community feedback on understanding household waste disposal habits is back again this year!

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Rob Amos is excited about the survey and said the data is essential for informing and driving Council’s Waste Management Strategy.

“Waste management is an essential service used by all residents and it is important to our environment's sustainability. By participating in the survey, we are better able to understand your current habits and needs, which will inform and improve our waste strategy and education programs.

“And for your participation, we’re giving residents the chance to go in the draw to win one of five prepaid visa cards,” Cr Amos said.

The survey seeks feedback on the use of Council’s eight resource recovery centres, kerbside collection, illegal dumping and what goes in what bins. It’s become an essential part of data that provides a baseline to identify waste education priorities as well as the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the program year on year.

“The survey has been designed with insights from previous years and is aimed at understanding the current attitudes towards waste disposal, how households manage their waste, and what additional waste education programs the community would like to see implemented.

“Over the last five years, there has been a considerable shift in waste and improving behaviour. We look forward to seeing what the results deliver in this year’s survey,” Cr Amos added.

The WickED survey is open to all Campaspe Shire and Moama residents, groups, businesses and schools, and can be accessed via the ‘Now Open’ section on Council’s website. The online survey closes 5pm on Monday, 3 June.
