This project will see redevelopment of this precinct, designed to meet the needs of existing user groups and identify opportunities for new groups. The area adjoins Sutton Street and the Echuca East Primary School.

The precinct provides for passive and informal recreation activities such as after school care, school holiday programs, dog obedience classes, dog events, girl guides, quilting, community radio and various other activities. Despite the uses of the site, the majority of facilities no longer meet the needs of the community, are in poor condition, and not compliant with various regulations and are nearing the end of their useful life.

The project is being developed in stages. Redevelopment of the former Echuca East Recreation Reserve has progressed with Stage 1 (multi purpose building and playspace), Stage 2 (Dog zones and Open space) and Stage 3 (Sutton Street car parking) all completed by December 2022.

The final and fourth stage (bike skills area) is the last component of this redevelopment and will complete the project and the connected path network throughout the open space.

Contractors will begin tree removal and install temporary fencing from 17 - 24 June. Construction of the bike skills area and pump track, including irrigation, drainage, footpaths and connect path networks will begin on 1 July 2024.

Please obey all traffic and advisory signage when using the shared path and park near the construction area.
