GMCU Allianz Campaspe Murray Business Awards results

Kyvalley Dairy Group has been awarded the top award, Business of the Year, at last night’s 2017 GMCU Allianz Campaspe Murray Business Awards.

Campaspe Shire Council Mayor, Cr Adrian Weston said the awards, held biennially, acknowledge and celebrate local businesses which are the best in their field. This year’s awards attracted more than 120 applications across 12 categories, with winners announced at a Special Gala Dinner at the Moama Bowling Club.

“Kyvalley Dairy Group not only took out the top award, but also received the Agribusiness award earlier in the evening,” Cr Weston said.

“The winners and finalists represent the highest calibre of businesses in the Campaspe and Murray River shires, all committed to providing the best services, products and customer experiences for our community,” Cr Weston said.

As part of the judging, winning businesses went through a rigorous process including assessment of their application form information, a site visit and interview. The independent judging panel consisted of local and state government and business champions.

Business of the Year, Kyvalley Dairy Group is one of Australia’s largest family owned dairy businesses supplying fresh milk products to the domestic and international markets. They supply innovative, fresh milk products to the Asia Pacific region through a secure supply chain from feed to final product. The farming family heritage dates back to 1857 with brothers Wayne, Peter and David the fifth generation of a 160-year old dairy farming legacy. They have been developing their dairy business into a world class, family corporate dairy enterprise through a sustainable and innovative group of businesses supporting the Australian dairy industry.

Jenn Rendle from Echuca Moama Tourism won Employee of the Year. Jenn is a full-time visitor services officer at the Echuca Moama Visitor Information Centre. Jenn is the first point of contact for the centre’s visitors, volunteers and members - the face of the organisation. Her primary role within the centre is the provision of visitor services, which includes coordinating the booking system as well as being the point of contact for its team of volunteer ambassadors.

Karla Hourigan, the owner of Infinesse, is the Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Karla is a lover of all things technical and has a passion to help businesses work smarter. At the same time she is an advocate and leader for her industry and is a member of the Australian Xero Partner Advisory Council to champion and revolutionise bookkeeping. She has a community focus and is involved in local initiatives and charitable events.
